Dr P. overprescribed a family friend with too many drugs and sedatives. The patient was completely out of it. Dr P. asked parent of patient on what drugs to try with patient. Parent should not know what to try. That’s why one goes to a Dr. After leaving Dr Ps practice, a new Dr took patient off all but one drug. Patient is doing so much better since. Plus, Dr P. charging around $500 for a few minutes of consultation is steep. Dr P. never checked any vitals during any visits. Patient is so happy to be at another Dr. getting appropriate treatment now. Be aware!

I have seen Dr P since I was a child and I am now 32, he is by far the best Psychiatrist I have ever seen or known. I went through a phase in my life where I went to a local psychiatrist that literally mentally destroyed me with over prescribing medication and left me with a dopamine depletion. Went back to Dr P and slowly he fixed all the issues they cause with alternative medicine (non narcotic) and I actually am at a great place in my life now. He was In D magazine? That’s no easy accomplishment. He’s not a pill pusher and has no “goons” I have absolutely no idea where the 1 star reviews even came from on here. In fact they literally hold no weight. Patient-Dr relationships don’t include a look into your Drs personal life meaning they are all false.

If you want a place to take your children or yourself, that you will actually be prescribed medications correctly that will help you than this is the place for you.

Dr Portteus is the best in his field! He does have a Yale education and was the former child psych director at Texas Children’s. He does not accept insurance, so it is costly, but WORTH it! We’ve been through a slew of psychiatrists, and although they may be cheaper- you can’t put a price or mental/emotional stability. Myself and two of my children have been seeing him for 5 years, and have complicated diagnoses. He has changed our lives and I would never see another psychiatrist besides him. He is brilliant, kind, patient, and actually respects parents who “do their research”, and values YOUR input and feedback. We are so thankful for him and I’m not sure we’d “be ok” without him. Denise, his office manger, is an absolute doll; super kind, compassionate, and an excellent communicator. Thank you to Dr Portteus, Denise, and his entire staff.

I’ve seen what this man has done to his own children and the mother of his children. Be sure you do your research and know exactly who this person is. Do not take your children to see this man in any way. Use discernment, stand up for the truth no matter what, our children are not for sale.

I can’t believe anyone would willingly put their child or themselves through this literal house of horror. This doctor and his crew completely brainwash you into paying your life savings in order to further damage people. Stay away from this monster, and his goons.
