I've only been going regularly for a little while now, but the community, the intention, the practice - it's everything. I've practiced stoicism, been in major religions, dove into the world of desire - but being able to sit within your mind and make sense of a virtuous path with a teacher(s) who sees themselves in you. You find peace, happiness, and a purpose for being. For those who are seeking - the truth is within yourself, but we've forgot the path somewhere along the way. Come to a class on Tuesday (Foundation Practice), Thursday, Saturday or Sunday (big one). Something I learned the other day, "Compassion (true genuine, heartfelt equanimity) purifies the heart." And that made all the difference for me.

Also, parking on the meters is the best way. It's like $2 for 2 hours. The Aquarium being next door brings tons of distractions - which is good! Life has it's distractions. Create stronger discipline within yourself, focus on the goal and the obstacles will not matter.

They offer free parking which is great. There is an admission fee for the lecture and it is very reasonable to be able to enjoy such beautiful surroundings.
Kadampa meditation in another state has q & a which makes the presentation more enjoyable. Here you are lectured at like in church but it is still Wirth checking out.

This is a beautiful urban meditation center where in addition to receiving inspiring teachings, I've found the community to be warm and welcoming. They live up to their claim that all are welcome regardless of beliefs or background. It's located next to the Dallas World Aquarium, so be prepared to enjoy songs from tropical birds while meditating!

What a beautiful place! My only complaint is that this is located in downtown in the West End directly next to the Aquarium. In the meditation center you are really put to the test because it is very noisy with the outside sounds (children screaming and animals making noises) especially on Saturday mornings. If you can get past that, the lectures and meditations are great. Friendly staff and friendly people.
